Some thoughts:

UNC sucks so bad this year it is honestly painful to watch them. All of their decent players are guards; they have an absolute abortion of a frontcourt this year. Their midget lineup got raeped by Louisville yesterday. I've been cheering for them for years and will continue to watch their games when they are on and I'm free, but damn, it is painful.

As anticipated, the SEC is shaping up to be an absolute monster of a conference. I am very interested to see how conference games play out over the next month or so and who remains dominant.

I am all aboard the Popemobile and following Kentucky closely these days. I still think their roster is not as great as their early wins vs Duke and Gonzaga indicate, but I love Pope so much as a coach that I am obsessed.

Can't believe Cooper Flagg has made me cheer for Duke, but here I am, and at this point they are my second choice to win the natty this year after Auburn.

Anybody have any thoughts about teams they've been following or college basketball in general?

its also shocking to me that they dont ever seem to be running any sort of actual half-court offense. every game ive seen has basically just been their guards in iso situations trying to create shots off the dribble. their 3 pt shooting is also horrendous for a team thats trying to play at their tempo

don't know how many more years the boosters will put up with this, but they'll go through the same charade as UK where they whiff on every active coach with postseason success and end up with Wes Miller or something

i can understand the roster being a bit of a mess if NIL is the biggest issue, but they really are just running NO half-court offense at all from what i have seen watching portions of 3 of their games this year. they arent even setting screens properly.

i know that they were going after a few big men in the off season, most noteably that i remember being wolf from yale who ended up at michigan. the fact that they couldnt secure ANY decent big men leads me to believe that theres something going on behind the scenes and NIL really is as bad as im reading in random places online.

i also question davis' judgment in scheduling SO MANY top out of conference teams to start the year. the difficulty of their schedule was i think 5th overall out of every d-1 team. thats nuts. they're like 2-5 in quad 1 wins. this is going to backfire on them massively come tourney time. and honestly they would probably have been better off with 2-3 easier games to start the season so davis could figure out wtf to do with his 5 guards and zero big men.

with the roster he's got, if i was coach, would be trying to full court press A LOT and take advantage of their quickness with trapping. and would be working on their 3 point shooting. fuck.

if they decide to replace davis and fix their NIL they should be able to find a very solid head coach. UNC is one of hte bluest of bloods.
