Of countries with at least 10 million people the US has the highest GDP per capita by far, almost 30% higher than #2, but Trade Deficits Bad and actually we are badly underperforming where we should be. Also we simply don't *need* the crappy stuff that China makes which is why it's so critical to build factories to make that crappy stuff here.
