Around 5 a.m., two young men bumped into each other on the dance floor. The 35-year-old man first shoved one of the young men in the face, then punched him, and then began attacking other young men who tried to stop him. As a result of the incident, at least five people were injured. A 23-year-old man was later diagnosed with a skull base fracture. A 20-year-old man suffered a closed traumatic brain injury and a torn lip.
It was later revealed that the accused previously served in law enforcement, specifically in the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tambov Region, but had left the force more than five years earlier. He had no disciplinary issues and was well-regarded by his superiors.
According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the man faces: • a fine of up to 80,000 rubles, • or a fine equal to his salary or other income for a period of up to six months, • or mandatory community service for up to 480 hours, • or corrective labor for up to two years, • or restriction of freedom for up to three years, • or arrest for up to six months |
