Date: November 28th, 2025 11:14 PM Author: Nude men Two of my lib friends who are very smart/successful by traditional standards and who have jobs that one would think require detailed knowledge of economics (who both have virulent TDS, unfortunately) argued to me today that China is now seen by “most people in the world” as the best economic model. I countered that they are communists and the people in China have no freedom, where they responded in the US we no longer are seen as “free” because Trump has “destroyed or weakened” our institutions and attacked “free speech”. So now China is seen as the more viable and “reliable” partner for investing in the world. They said no one wants to come here anymore and, outside of New York, if things go south in the US, a new world capital will emerge somewhere outside the US. Maybe Singapore, or somewhere in China, they said.
Are they right? |
