i think the issue is that politically obsessed people often expect things to change on a dime, which is truly retarded considering how much they follow politics and it never happening. consuela arguing trump is a failure because of 2025 spending when trump has little impact on the 2025 budget that was passed before he was elected is funny.
trump literally activated the national guard to enforce immigration policy against the protests of a state governor and people will still say he is phoning it in. a lot of people expect everything to complete change when a new potus is sworn in and are inevitably disappointed. this is the root cause of the blackpill. |

this is the most i've seen happen in my lifetime. people have legitimate reasons to be blackpilled if they took trump's bravado at face value. i suppose those people are also right to be blackpilled trump didn't end the ukraine war in 24 hours.
trump has drastically overperformed my expectations for him and is overperforming every other POTUS in my lifetime. i'm not defending his bluster and do think it's unbecoming of a POTUS, i'm just saying he's doing a great job relative to other recent POTUS's and my expectations. |

with so much internal resistance the only real effective strategy is "move fast, break stuff" and sending a techbro in with a flamethrower. i wish it wasn't the case and it's so stupid and wasteful but it turns out we don't have the luxury of being reasonable and deliberate when the entrenched establishment you're trying to reform is not acting in good faith. this is what restructuring companies typically fire almost all of the management overnight when they take over. |

also they're still doing work finding shit. getting anything done within the federal government, let alone finding "waste", is insanely hard. musks little budget hissy fit seems to have clearly derived from his frustration with this.
i don't think adding lawyers into the operations process would have helped and this is coming from the POV of a guy who works regularly as a lawyer on matters involving this shit. |
