i like the battle system and especially the team-up attacks and it's got some flashy menus. but the textures are literally PS2-era in places and so is most of the dungeon design. just most bland, generic stuff and the assets get reused over and over in many dungeons. the areas are light years behind something like FFX. it would have been getting 7.5/10s if released on the PS2.
Plot is wokeslop and has a lot of really dull sections. Times where you watch an hour of cutscenes and nothing of note happens.
I don't get how this became the Absolute State of "AAA" jrpgs. |

doesn't seem intolerably wokesloppy so far. there are different fantasy races of humanoids and different ones face discrimination, but that has existed in pretty much every fantasy story.
i love atlus games and turn based combat. they're filing the role that the square and the ff7 remakes should have. |

Do wish they let the player get a more free reign with the archetypes with more viable builds for the end game.
