I thought this was egregious, but now realize it would have been chaos to have a mini primary around the time of the convention. By sticking with Kamala and hiding her in the basement they at least had a shot. |

Anyone would have received the same polling and fundraising surge Kamala got in August, but they would have had a better shot at holding it. |

Kamala was the only logical/reasonable choice as she was on the ballot with Biden and could reasonably argue that primary voters voted for her too. And the entire role of the VP is to step in for POTUS anyways.
not to mention it would have pissed off the Dem base of angry black women.
this was really the only practical solution. |
