I’ve always felt like the biggest barrier to AI adoption is human inertia, and it might take a while for some (non-tech) business leaders to take advantage of AI-powered workflows.

With that in mind, do you think there will be a period of time in which AI-savvy employees figure out how to automate most of their job before their employers catch on?

No, work is going to get even worse. It always gets worse with productivity tools. Every single time. More will just be expected of you. The good thing is you’ll probably get paid more. But GC will work us to our bones

CR

you saw it when they invented computers/email. before biglaw partners would turn one draft a day and fax it over to the other side. you'd get more down time. now it's like 10 fucking drafts a day and you have to email 24/7

Must have been so unbelievably chill to be able to think in the span of weeks for every task instead of always needing to respond to everything within an hour

At one point in the not too distant past (like pre WWII), the largest firm was Shearman and Sterling and it had 20 something lawyers.

But apparently things have sucked for a century.

biglaw still basically bans AI because of the pretentious "confidentiality" concerns. once it's fully intogreated into westlaw/lexis it's over for us.
