He introduced me to all his relatives and friends as his boss and they all joked about me firing him. All the women wore camouflage hoodies like you'd get at Wal Mart for $10 and they all had kids already in their early 20s. They had names like Darlene & McKenna. Everyone was either chewing tobacco or vaping. He had some kind of elaborate setup of wires coming from a phone mount stuck to his center console that held his Android phone up for all to see as if it were a museum piece. I guess the "aux cord" was hooked into his stereo so we could listen to shitty rap music and country. Everyone was pounding Rainier beers, which they called "Vitamin R" to raucous laughter each time. Chad's truck absolutely destroyed a pristine streambed that was probably habitat for some endangered animals. We never got much alone time and I got pretty jealous over this floozy named Kenzie sitting on his lap. But just before we left he let me drive through a big puddle and then playfully hit me on the arm after I splashed mud all over the girls. He said it was bad ass. I really hope we can see each other again.
