Date: April 3rd, 2025 6:30 PM Author: woah (hitler did nothing wrong) 1. Knowledge work is about to go extinct. AI is going to replace basically everyone with a BA, JD, and most MD/DOs who aren't doing surgeries with their own two hands.
2. Factories will soon also be automated, especially in places where the cost of labor/benefits/regulations is high (such as the United States)
3. The combination of these two things will result in major problems for countries who do not have large numbers of fully automated factories in them paying Taxes. Companies can be rootless cosmopolitans and move around easily if their business fits on a thumb drive (AGIAAS) and has no ties to any particular region other than low Taxes.
4. Governments require Taxes to run. If the shitworkers are all replaced, there's going to be some kind of dole to prevent food riots like the Romans used to experience. If the ex workers aren't employed doing anything and become net negatives, the money to feed and house them has to come from somewhere and my argument is it should come from the clean, efficient, fully automated factories domiciled in the US and paying American Taxes rather than dumping pollution into the ocean in China and paying Chinese Taxes. |

I work in manufacturing and have helped stand up lights out plants that basically only have humans to fix edge case issues and handle some menial tasks that are hard to automate now but won't be hard soon thanks to ML.
