my life is fucked:
- dead end law jerb
- no friends
- no relationship (ever)
- multiple health problems (not dying but life has become difficult)
- difficult relationship with parents
I have some savings (not a huge amount but enough to sustain me for a while). I am thinking of quitting my job and moving abroad. Thailand? Australia? Then trying to do some type of remote work.
I know it won't solve any of my problems but feel like I need to try something new. Perhaps this is just "grass is always greener on the other side" type of thinking.
Any advice gratefully received.

You gotta just go hard on one thing that you really like and will give your life meaning and make you excited and motivated to get up every day and do it
Figure out what that thing is and do it

as the poster wrote above, everyone in this life feels a calling. the calling what you focus on in your free time naturally plus what you're good at. you aren't doing your calling, clearly. what are you called to do?
free will doesn't exist except to the extent to either reject one's calling and live in false ego, which if you do this you will feel perpetually dissatisfied (as you are feeling) or to accept to and follow one's calling.
running away to another country won't change this paradigm even slightly.

"The entire mechanism of GC is to pay to tolerate the feeling of ignoring your calling."
yes, this is the very core of the GC system. arx-han argues, correctly i think, that self-actualization is a zero sum game: “The problem with self actualization as a life strategy exceeds the comparatively simple implementation of hedonic wire-heading: not everyone can be equally high-agency. Because human agency exists relative to other agents, it is zero-sum. It’s not just about the limited number of Dunbar slots for prominent people—it’s an even more essential feature of agentic competition in any sphere, whether artistic or not.”

your response also reminds me of the parable of the mexican fisherman:
An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large fin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied, “Only a little while.”
The American then asked why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more fish.
The Mexican said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs.
The American then asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The Mexican fisherman said, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life.”
The American scoffed. “I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats. Eventually, you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman, you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing, and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC, where you will run your expanding enterprise.”
The Mexican fisherman asked, “But how long will this take?”
To which the American replied, “Fifteen to twenty years.”
“But what then?”
The American laughed and said that’s the best part. “When the time is right, you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich; you would make millions.”
“Millions?” asked the fisherman. “Then what?”
The American said, “Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evening, sip wine, and play guitar with your amigos!”

The song ends abruptly for "The End of the Film". The hostess from "The Middle of the Film" opens an envelope and blandly reveals the meaning of life: "It's nothing very special, really. Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations".

- get on 300-500mg of test per week. insane changes in mood for every guy i've seen do this. i truly think test cures unhappiness in most unhappy men. start at 250mg and increase dose incrementally based on your tolerance.
- if you are fat, lose weight. test + cardarine + a glp-1. it has truly never been easier.
- exercise. some form of lifting or combat sport, and some form of cardio. doesn't have to be running, can be swimming, rowing, etc.
- sleep well, eat tons of meat, avoid processed garbage "food" and so forth. all things i'm sure you've heard thousands of times, but they all significantly materially change how you feel.
you can only live in a way counter to every biological impulse for so long before you begin to fall apart. man spent thousands of years refining genetics to be an apex predator and social animal, and placing the resulting creature in an asocial sedentary lifestyle will ofc be bad for him.
.
once you improve your physical condition, you can start to think clearly through what you should do professionally and socially. don't try to address these problems until you fix your physical ones, because what you want may change as you improve your health. a great portion of mental and neurological issues stem from physical ones (e.g. gut health). that said, once you have your health trending correctly, start the following:
- start exploring social interests. BJJ/MMA, climbing and bouldering, rec league sports, chess club, cooking classes, birdwatching clubs, book clubs, run clubs, fucking vidya fag shit, whatever -- but you need at least one interest that will give you a chance to make some friends. spend a month or two trying things out, find one you can tolerate. you don't have to love it, you just need to stick with it awhile to develop a social outlet. enjoying the activity itself will probably come with time. I personally recommend combat sports. Low barrier to entry because everyone starts knowing nothing, people start late in life all the time, and it's generally an environment where you can find less faggy people who are cool and down to do shit. It's also something very rewarding to improve at. bottom line, it's insanely hard to live life as an asocial animal. don't choose to impose additional difficulty on yourself by trying to.
- make a more concrete plan to make more money or do something you like better professionally. I can't really give you much better guidance than that because I don't know if you're someone who does better working as little as possible or 60 hours/wk, but figure that out and then either make a plan to move to something giving you more free time, or something where you can ultrakike your way to lots of money. those are really your two options.
.
not going to get into the parents thing but fixing that inasmuch as able will probably help. you can assess better than us whether that's realistic though.
.
you very obviously do need to try something new, but you'll have to forgive my skepticism that moving somewhere across the world where you have no connection or roots, don't know the language and will always be an outsider, and don't have a clear plan, will address any of the real reason you're unhappy or unfulfilled.
.
generally, in my experience, i have been least happy when i have been either aimless ro failing to progress in the ways i know i should. i have been happiest in life when i've been chasing things. men are made to chase things, and the men i know who are most fulfilled are those that are consumed by responsibilities and don't have time to be bored.
you can only spend so much time with every physical system in your body in a state of alarm, receiving none of the social or relational stimulation you are programmed for, before you cease to function. putting yourself in the right conditions to enjoy life and function well is typically all that it really takes.

i don't subscribe to this live | laugh | love 'find your calling' philosophy
most of us don't have that luxury
your calling will not pay your bills for a long time
your calling needs to be a hobby that you actively pursue outside of your day job
your calling won't fix your misanthropy, you need to truly love other people and care for them and that doesn't get fixed overnight or ever (but should 100% be your first priority before any of this calling nonsense)
you must pursue greater physical fitness

Join a social gym activity - crossfit tends to give certain people a sense of identity.
Join a church.
Call your parents every week. Plan 1 activity a month to do with them. If they do something that angers you, just ignore it and don't let them other you.
I don't think Thailand is a bad option but agree with others that you should try to get in shape first.
