do you live in the florida keys?
if not, no its a terrible hobby. tons of equipment, certifications, licenses, boat rental fees etc. very expensive and a pain in the ass. just get into golfing

you can do the open water cert as a fun thing to do and experience and then do a few dives here and there when on vacation, but it's not something you want to get into regularly. it's potentially dangerous for one, and two it gets old.
never under any circumstances do cave or wreck diving.
