If you're a dorky NYC private equity exec, and this fun, charming guy you bump into a random fundraiser invites you on his private jet to his estate to party with hot women, you're going to say yes. And after you attend said party and have sex with some of these women, you're going to be amenable to some usually minor request your new best friend until it snowballs to the point where you're full on conspirators.
I doubt he at any point brought up his actual blackmail, if it exists as alleged, to get what he wanted from his subjects. I think it was mostly just him being a glamorous pimp whose 'payment' are in kind favors. |
