Not a physics expert obviously, but I feel like a lot of the quantum shit is just something our brains aren’t able to comprehend. So the stuff appears mega mysterious, but is likely just far beyond our abilities.

I don't really think this is right, I think it's more likely far beyond our current understanding of physics, but the one thing I can think of offhand that's consistent with our current ape physics is if it travels through another dimension. I always think of that early-internet flash animation about imagining the 10th dimension

“String theorists” basically said that the math showed 10 dimensions (sometimes way more), but that we cannot comprehend the dimensions because they are actually super duper tiny and curled up.

What’s funny to me is that their description just sounds like 3 dimensions, but super small. Whereas the guy you are referencing actually presented something coherent and elegant.

it seems like a lot of the time, different subfields or theories model things differently and "academics" get so stuck in their own little worlds that they don't realize that the models are not only compatible, not only useful in analyzing each other, but also ultimately collapse to the same thing in some sense

(that is, if they're correct in the first place)

I watched some guy on YT a while back who was talking about a new theory to explain this which involves the idea that information basically exists outside of time (or something to that effect.) I will try and find it at some point because it was intriguing.

I get the general sense that “time” isn’t really a real thing and that the fields that underly everything can carry and hold information in ways our minds cannot comprehend.

I think it’s more fundamental. But I will have to dig up the video at some point.

Somewhat related, I recently read someone argue that basically all life stems from the electromagnetic field. Meaning that life itself is simply the electromagnetic field operating across matter. I am oversimplifying, but it was intriguing.

I have thought a lot that God basically reveals the Truth to us in whatever capacity we are capable of understanding. And as our tools improve, we are shown the Truth in a clearer light. But we sometimes get arrogant and think we know it all. When in fact we know only what God shows us at a point in time given the tools we have.

Time and existence either began at some point and there was nothing before it, or it's always existed and there was no beginning. I dont think anyone can really comprehend either of those even though one has to be true.

It’s all fucking Bryce 3D. I watched some video that was showing the raw footage from a telescope before it gets “enhanced,” and it’s basically just blank.

It reminds me of the “footage” of the hexagon on Saturn. This to me is a bit of a “space is fake” red pill. Given that Jews have had some weird Saturn cube worship shit long before we had space rockets and telescopes. So either they had some foreknowledge of a cube on Saturn or they just make it all up.

Yeah but that's just how instruments/sensors work in the sciences. GC-MS, NMR, electron microscopes and whatever else aren't giving you beautiful renderings of atoms, ions, or energy gradients or whatever. It's a bunch of janky signal and the underlying structure gets inferred. I think it seems misleading, because telescopes originally were a tube you looked through and saw an enlarged version of something you'd see with the bare eyeball.

The universe does not have a "universal" speed limit. At long enough distances, space is expanding faster than the speed of light. Most of the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light with no known limit.

We don't know any of this. We haven't even solved all the mysteries of the human body. To think we know anything about how or if the universe is expanding (into what?), much less at the speed that happens, is hubris.

it's not necessarily expanding into anything

the solution? The definitely not contradictory proposition, "it's not expanding into anything."

there is no contradiction. "expansion" just means exactly what we find by measurement: every star or other body is getting farther and farther apart from every other one.

Right, there's no contradiction in saying "the glass is not expanding INTO anything, idiot."

well human brain can't actually picture a, say, finite universe that's curved in on itself without being situated inside an extra dimension but it's mathematically possible. but if the universe is an infinite expance even humans can picture the expansion

How does something like the rate at which the Earth travels around the sun contradict whether the universe is expanding? And then why did Einstein think it was static?

"contradicts literally every astronomical observation" strikes me as an embellishment someone who doesn't know what they're talking about says to seem authoritative.

The "speed of light" is actually the universe's speed of causality and quantum entanglement/"spooky action at a distance" doesn't violate this speed of causality

Quantum mechanics is something that even the people who have won Nobel Prizes for it, fully admit makes no sense and they dont understand it.

It makes some sense in the language of math, but it isn't something that they could intelligently explain to even like the average Harvard philosophy major and have them think it makes sense.

I think Newtonian physics, even at an atomic level, is intuitive to most smart humans. QM is math that computes to magic to the human mind - so its either incorrect or something we can't comprehend.

A lot of it is demonstrably correct since quantum engineering is used for practical applications today. And that's what's so crazy about it. What know that it's true but it makes no sense. I don't think anyone can really comprehend superposition yet we know it to a certainty.
