Day trip to San Marino, various towers, porchetta and mortadella at Simoni, if it still exists Mortadella Lab sandos were fire. Bolognese somewhere (we went to Osteria del orsa, wife hated it). Grand Hotel Majestic Gia Baglioni was acceptable. The tourist stuff is all central you’ll find it.

San Marino was neat for an afternoon as a daytrip, that hotel (LHW), was I believe the only good hotel. There are two restau recos in my post, aside from that we had room service one meal. We were only there a few days.

Verona is more touristy than it’s worth imo. Opera was good tho. Honestly I prefer the smaller towns. I was mad at myself for bothering with Venice. Nightmare like Disneyland. Bassano, asolo, valdobbiadene area are relaxing and a good time. Nice not to get ripped off with tourist prices for everything too.

Explain Verona.

It's a stop off a place we'd never otherwise bother to go to. Northern Italy is a bit off the beaten path imo..

Been to Venice and Florence. Looking for something more low-key.

I won't go if discouraged. I've been everywhere so tell me if it's a waste and hassle
