Kamala seems like a nice urban cosmopolitan wine mom but she’s a complete empty suit as a politician
Trump was funny and interesting in 2016. Still good in 2020. Noe he comes off as a deranged fucking moron and on top of that he looks and sounds old as shit

she is grating and unlikable, which people have said ever since the media started trying to forcememe her as a national candidate.
trump is very beatable and libs should be irate that their party slotted in the second worst option after biden with no input from them. of course, they are incapable of being critical of their own party.

Biden has good days and bad days. Whatever they had him on for the SOTU worked. He only needed 1-2 more big good days where he looked hale and could rattle off populist rhetoric. I was one of the people who overreacted to SOTU because I actually thought his arguments were pretty good. He was sort of doing a mid-90s Bill Clinton impression, talking about the role of government in supporting private sector innovation. I could almost taste Biden term 2.
That being said, during the debate with Trump he came across as a literal vegetable. I don't think they could have concealed his dementia any longer. There was a breaking point. No one would have been able to sell the American people that this guy isn't toast intellectually. They had to pull the plug.
Plus all the sociopaths who will run in 2028 thought Kamala was a good thing - a sacrificial lamb no one cared about. Newsom, Shapiro, and Beshear perfectly happy to let this one slip away. Giddy, even.

Cr Joe should have stepped down and they should have run a primary.
But the Kamala thing was orchestrated ahead of time. It was clearly Obama and Pelosi who was behind it. Kamala to nominee was signed, sealed, and delivered before Biden stepped down. It was all planned.
It would have been impossible to run a primary so late in the game because it would have messed up people's careers and it wouldn't have been fair to do it that way. You don't want 30 days to define the rest of everyone in your party's political future.

I watched the Halpern-Tucker interview yesterday and Mark Halpern is a guy I respect. This was one of the topics covered. In a nutshell, there was no previous plan or conspiracy. It's easy to believe there has to be puppeteers organizing things behind the scene and everything is part of a long term strategic plan, but this is very rare in real life and most of the time things just happen.
The Biden cognitive decline was covered up unstated agreements to not talk about it but there was no mass conspiracy with puppeteers behind the scene. This, along with the staggering hypocrisy of the presses, does make it one of the greatest scandals of modern journalism but it's still besides the fact that there was no orchestrated plan by powerful operatives.
The June debate ruined the Biden is sharp facade. That's when the Dem leaderships realized something had to be done. Pelosi and Obama did want a secondary primary of some kind but it was Harris who stepped in and said she wanted the nomination and pointed out she could inherit the delegates and all the campaign war chests in a seamless transfer that wouldn't be the case for others. Harris made it impossible for them to promote alternatives.
The other comment Halpern had was that the names speculatively mentioned as alternative candidates weren't necessarily going to be eager to run for prez. Shapiro, Whitmer, even Newsom. It's nothing to do with policy or Trump but putting yourself and family into the public spotlight, especially as they often also had young children and spouses. It's easy to remain more anonymous in public even as a prominent governor, but never as a president. Your entire life changes forever afterwards. Not everyone wants it.

agreed. he didn't need to shoot his wad by seriously trying to take out Trump as the GOP nom. running in the primary and getting his message out before endorsing Trump was the credited move.
