What I don’t understand is why can’t we deport these people with dignity? Why have they not just offered a monetary reward so that as many people as possible will self-deport? I doubt that’s any more expensive than the 6-8 ICE agents they’re sending to grab one person. This is more about the show than anything else and it appears to be backfiring on them.

Employers found hiring them could be penalized or charged. Denial of public benefits. Withholding federal support from states found to be supporting them.

By the way, ICE itself has twice, in the 90s and in 2009, offered incentives for voluntary deportation. Plenty of European countries have done it too.

There just has to be a better way than 8 guys tackling a single illegal on the sidewalk or forcing families to separate with zero notice.

use palantir or whatever to soft track their location and disallow free movement between states. they're locked in to their state of employment for as long as they're here and not naturalized. perhaps some sort of wait benefit cutting off time to naturalization can be added for x years of residency-without-issue.

in return they get the protections of the law and a special "guest workers" federal bureau that can be anonymously contacted to provide tips and complaints on employer and resident abuses of this status. free legal help from this bureau is also provided re labor and housing contracts to ensure that nobody's getting gipped or opportunistically exploited. an issue like this is something that the technocratic singaporean approach is actually well equipped to handle.

i'm sympathetic to the economic migrant cause, abhorred by tales of migrant exploitation at the hands of natives, and mature enough to understand that outside of the id's desires that these people can and do benefit the national welfare, but i also understand that malfeasors, mostly but not exclusively on the left, working to obscure and protect the status of these migrants makes proper enforcement and administration over their statuses and communities keeps there from being an optimal answer to the immigration crisis.

it's rough now but if you cut the emotion out of the debate and just look at the numbers and a cost benefit analysis of migrant economic impacts on the general economy as well as on host communities it gets a lot easier to parse through. a primarily bureaucratic problem requires a bureaucratic solution, which isn't as fun or id-gratifying as "deport them all!" (rapes the economy) or "make them all citizens!" (rapes legacy americans and their treasury), but what it does do is it allows the terms of the debate to filter into something that policy is actually equipped to tackle.

i mainly want underpaid migrant labor to stop producing "skew" in the charts and to give actual americans a chance at competing for these positions by putting in a hard cap on how much blood can be squeezed out of economically exploiting migrants. if it's no longer a gold mine for undocumented third worlders to work here and if it comes with expectations that "guest workers" must be on their absolute best behavior or risk a permanent barrier against living and working in the US (as well as perhaps prison time or similar) migrant numbers will naturally turn downwards and the real costs of goods will be more transparent to both investors and consumers. this will be a boon for the health of the "real economy" in the long term, although it may cause a good deal of lizard-brained whining in the short.

mass deportations are "okay" and needed in some communities, but there are also externalities and second order effects involved in making this the default that i doubt that the elite are willing to pick up the tab on. "stability" is a quality in states that everyone takes for granted until it's suddenly gone, and what comes after is almost always a rip on everyone outside of the ultra-wealthy.

1) Enforce criminal penalties on employers who employ illegals.

2) Ban Western Union and other companies from sending U.S. funds abroad to family members.

3) End all social services and subsidies for illegals.

If our leaders did these three things, the illegals would all self-deport because they would have no income in the U.S. - without a single ICE raid.

However, our leaders do not want illegal immigration to end. The administrative state under puppet Biden imported 20 million of them in four years alone. What they want is for Trump to use over-the-top thug tactics and then highlight individual cases in the media, over and over, in order to sour the population on the illegal immigration issue, while at the same time justifying the expansion of the Palantir surveillance/security state. In other words, Trump’s approach plays right into the dialectics in order to ensure the vast majority of these illegals stay here and the masses continue to lose their liberties.
