To be fair,
Sounds like Telsa is running a completely doomed business model that is inevitably going to collapse in on itself, and on top of that the current stock price would be insanely overpriced at the moment even assuming Telsa was running a great business model (which clearly it isn't).
IMO there is literally TONS of money to be made shorting TSLA under these conditions -- in fact, these conditions are basically ideal to make a large fortune in a very short amount of time, assuming that the assumptions above are all correct and true of course haha.
You seem to be convinced that they're all correct and true, so how much of your own money are you putting on the line to short TSLA and make a fortune, my brilliant Jewish Pumo friend?

Wow. Odd case. IDK, maybe I'm just "weird," but I personally love making easy fortunes on sure thing bets within very short time frames. But that's just me, haha yeah (haha).

Usually it doesn't even take that long, and I have an older EV that can only charge at 150 kWh. Newer models can charge at 350 kWh or higher.
Honestly, the range worries for EV are massively overblown IMHO. First of all, you charge to full at home every night, so unless your commute is 300 miles or more, range is a total non-issue unless you are on a road trip. And when you are road tripping, if the range of your car is greater than the range of your bladder, then the extra car range doesn't do you any good. If I am driving with my family, I can go a maximum of 2-3 hours before someone needs to pee. And when I do stop to charge, inevitably by the time everyone finishes going to the bathroom, stretching, and getting a snack or whatever, my app is sending me notifications saying, "You are approaching your charging limit. Move your car or we will assess idle fees." I can remember maybe 1-2 times where we were ready to go but had to wait a few more minutes for the car to charge. (And remember that I have an older EV that charges more slowly than more recent models.)
If you are constantly going on solo road trips where you try to go as many hours as possible between bathroom breaks, then maybe the charging speed issue would be annoying. But for 99% of people, it's a total non-issue. If anything, it is more convenient, because you never have to worry about having to stop to get gas because the tank is nearly empty when you are already late to work.

i reluctantly got a tesla because my brand new PHEV got totaled and it was during the car shortage where everything was marked up like crazy and tesla's were available at MSRP. i was worried about range and all the other EV shit.
it's insane how much more convenient it is. i never need to stop for gas. my gf is gassing up all the time. it's super convenient and i'm never rushing out the door at 6am when it's 10 degrees only only to realize FUCK i forgot to get gas and need to stop and get out in the freezing cold for 5min.
i also go on frequent roadtrips in the summer and it's been a breeze. the charging network is awesome. on top of that, if you go to nice places they almost all have free ev charging which is essentially priority parking that gives you a full tank.
the cherry on top of all of this is that the shitlib EV incentives are insane and i'm saving a ton of money for a driving a luxury car.
i think for most families the ideal situation is an EV + PHEV SUV for family shit or just EV + EV. for a single person it's a no brainer unless you need a truck or are a courier or something.

families want to be able to beat the fuck out of a car for a decade without having massive repairs and even the cybertruck is too small for a family. getting gas is not a big deal and is something people do as part of regular errands they have to run anyways. having to rebuild our entire automotive fuel infrastructure all to solve a non-existent problem seems really stupid.

I'm not convinced that's true when factoring in everything and best selling "model" is comparing against like 15 other competitors competing against each other while Tesla is basically a monopoly if you want to get an EV. no one with a family wants to drive multiple kids around in a compact car that they have to replace in 3 years because the battery went to shit or the software needed for the car to run has been forceobsoleted. they drive SUVs instead or minivans if they're fine with looking like losers.

it's newish technology. i don't trust battery life, the reliance on tech that continues to be pushed into obsolescence, the resale value, and in general I'd be very skeptical to buy a preowned EV. I just don't trust it. most Tesla drivers seem like they buy brand new vs. most regular cars people buy preowned.
regular cars are honestly pretty good now in terms of regular maintenance - you change the tires/brakes when they run out the same as a tesla, change the oil once a year when you get the car inspected, and stuff like suspension and frame issues that may happen but also would be the same with an EV. The real shitter is stupid electrical stuff, so a car loaded to the gills with stupid electrical stuff makes me skeptical yet again.

you're also ignoring my point that ICE vs. EV is 15+ companies competing against essentially one company. EV is going to be higher grow as a market share as the technology establishes and in part because the same government that rages uncontrollably over over Elon Musk is/was paying ppl to buy cars made by Elon Musk, because they are very smart and consistent and definitely not unhinged people.

I love these pumos who have strong opinions about subjects that they clearly know nothing about. You heard scary stories about EV's on Fox News and decided to accept it as gospel.
It is true that complete battery failures were common on the first generation Leafs. That's probably where this idea that you have to replace the battery every three years got started. But it's a total non-issue for modern EV's. One of Tesla's critical advances was to figure out that if you put a climate control system on the battery that kicks in even when the car isn't driving, then the battery life is far better. Complete battery failure on a modern EV is very rare. And every single EV manufacturer to my knowledge warranties batteries for at least 100k miles, and many warranty them for longer than that.
For the record, I bought a former Hertz Tesla with 80k miles on the odometer. They were practically giving it away because people are so scared of used EV's. The battery has lost some capacity; my range is down to about 85% of the range of a new battery. But otherwise there are zero issues.
And for the record, most people will never replace the brakes on their EV thanks to the regenerative breaking. You do need to replace them eventually if you drive the car long enough, but most people will replace the car before they replace the brakes. On my Tesla, you are supposed to rotate the tires and replace the cabin air filter on a specific schedule. And you check the brake fluid once every four years. That's literally all the maintenance that the car needs.

i tend not to be an early adopter on anything, but still faster than most people. i got a prius in 2010 and constantly got told "wait until the battery breaks!" well the ICE gave out before the batteries after 12 years. and it was on the market for over a decade before i got it, i already knew what the risk and cost of it was.
same thing with an EV. i never considered buying a first gen leaf or tesla. by the time i bought one they'd be out for over a decade. the failure rates and average maintenance costs are well established by then, and it's far lower than an EV.
and people act like blowing a rod or a transmission breaking isn't a common occurrence and just as catastrophic as a battery. an ICE has a ton of moving parts being monitored by a retard relying on a check engine light. shit broke all the time.
i really don't care if people like EVs or not. ICEs are cool, i love muscle cars and 4x4s. what irks me is how so many anti-EV people are objectively wrong. YOU CAN JUST GOOGLE RELIABLITY AND REPAIR COST AVERAGES! and like you said, most manufacturers put obscene warranties on the batteries just to stave off this bullshit. yet these people still persist. i'd love it if my tesla's battery died, i'd get a fresh one for free!

because i'm autistic and it irks me when people say shit like "no one wants teslas!" or "tesla is worthless!" when they are some of the best selling cars and the company has outperformed the market several fold.
and i'm not even a huge tesla fan! i don't own any stock and in fact had an ongoing debate for the past decade with a friend about it being overvalued. sometimes i even qualify my poasts with this, but it's tiresome to repeat "i'm not a huge TSLA fan, but..."
if this was a tesla forum and people were spamming all day about how ICEs are done and the legacy automakers are about to go to zero i'd be white knighting for them. but that doesn't happen, what does happen is a bunch of people spam "no one wants tesla and the company is worthless!" when i see teslas everywhere and the company's market value is more than all the US automakers combined. i don't even think it should be, but it just is!!

teslas have always been remote-controlled spyware platforms. if you like 'owning' a car that can be remotely disabled at any time and which records everything you ever do in or around the car, then go for it.

my take is that electric cars are fun to drive
tesla was the only or at least most obvious option for most folks in the US when it came to buying an electric car
people said they liked teslas but really they just liked driving an electric car
as soon as more manufacturers came out with electric vehicles, what people thought made tesla unique was in fact an easily replicable attribute
throw in a disproportionate share of customers being libs, and tesla was always only a tweet away from this happening
the only thing currently saving them is the "moat" they have built round charging - it will be interesting to see if this is enough to save them (i doubt it)

wrong.
teslas were virtue signals for libs.
other electric vehicles were not, though they existed.
In 2012, the electric vehicle market grew with the introduction of new models like the Toyota Prius Plug-In, the Ford Focus Electric, and the Tesla Model S. The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf remained the top-selling models.

"TSLA is a meme stock being propped up by Musk fanboys"
"The best way to save TSLA stock is to get rid of Musk!"
it's crazy that MDS libs cannot even remain internally consistent. and what, they think removing musk is going to make the P/E go to 300?
it's just a fact that TSLA's commands such a high price relative to other automakers because people are betting on musk's vision. i'm not predicting whether that's a good bet, but without musk why would people pay 150x earnings when there are plenty of other EV makers you could buy for cheaper?
