I liked the last mid-engined car I had (Mk2 MR2 turbo) a lot, and the Cayman is supposed to handle better than the 911 anyway. ~300hp is more than enough for street driving.
I live in a city so nobody I know really sees my car anyway so don't really care what people think. |

But there was a reasonable debate that the new Boxter S was more fun than the 911. I've only driven the 2002 Boxster S. I had an absolute ball flying through the Pine Barrens of NJ.
I guess the simple answer is test drive both, but make sure to try the Boxster S on a nice day.
