Also I’ve never played “deathmatch classic” iirc. It came into its own with Team Fortress imo. It’s a seminal Game in western PC canon though bc it’s more adult. Instead of just killing demons you’re a scientist (Engineer) who shows up to work like an Adult before killing aliens. The game was made by Nerds, for Nerds, and you play as a Nerd.
