Yeah, iconic. That's a great piece of art.
FWIW Stine seems like a pretty nice guy. I read his memoir which Scholastic published during the height of Goosebumps-mania, and he came across as a Boomer Stephen King type who grew up obsessed with the same EC horror comics and Mad Magazine but went in a different direction. Glad that he was able to make it.
There's no way of knowing just which books he wrote in the series, for the most part, but I like to think that most of the best were ones he was involved with.

Welcome To Dead House--Easily the scariest; they toned it down after this for the most part (you can tell they're trying to figure out how much they needed to water down the Fear Street stuff)
Ghost Beach--Great cover art, pretty good characters, one hell of an ending.
The Headless Ghost--Just a fun hangout of a book, with likable characters, some creepy and gruesome material along the way that's still in good fun. Funnily enough, the main setting reminds me of Richard Laymon's "Beast House" (macabre tourist attraction house that still hides some menace), although this is a fundamentally good-hearted book about being young, having adventures with your friends, and scaring each other just enough.
How to Kill a Monster--Pretty well-paced and intense; a strong, simple horror set up. And a great ending.
The Ghost Next Door--Subtle elegiac slow burn of a book. Blew my mind when I read it. Actually quite sweet.
