And most businesses choose bank branches close to their offices. Certainly, this does not equal 2.5% of revenue. 3) Risk of check bouncing = risk of customer reversing a credit transaction. |

Date: June 17th, 2025 3:22 PM Author: odious mustard selfie by transaction time i mean it's quicker to get someone out the door if they're using a credit card as opposed to filling out a check or having to count out their change. that's important in high volume small margin businesses like convenience stores. you want them in and out ASAP. also there's plenty of evidence that people spend more with cards than they do with cash.
cash needs to be transported from your store to the bank. you either do it yourself and assume the risk or hire an armored car. |

Giving a cash discount off the listed price is just a discount. No harm to anyone. Adding a fee on top of a listed price is deceitful bullshit. I wouldn’t personally rat them out cause it’s not worth the trouble. As a business owner though, you should be smart enough not to openly engage in deceptive pricing lest you invite the ire of the kind of person who *would* complain about it. |

So if a client owes $10,000, and they pay that on a card, I have to pay a $250 fee. |
