While exact figures vary depending on the source, it's estimated that there were over 2,500 bombings on U.S. soil in 1971 and 1972 alone, with less than 1% of these bombings resulting in fatalities. The START database at the University of Maryland says that leftist extremism accounted for 68% of all terrorist attacks and 58% of all deaths from terrorism in the 1970s in the United States. |
