by traveling back in time and showing Doc all this new technology that doesn't exist yet, he's giving Doc a headstart that would dramatically accelerate the development of the time machine, so the first successful run won't be that same night when the Libyans attack. It would probably be more like six months after the DeLorean came on the market. Doc would be lined up to buy it because he knew about decades beforehand

nah the stainless steel was a good move from a long term planning standpoint. Motors could be swapped easily. It only had to do 88
