Every day I see like 15 posts about how "why do we think its impressive that AI can write a C compiler, there are plenty of open source ones in its training data, we wouldnt find it impressive if someone just unzipped a tarball". Or something like "of course there are issues with all llm code because its just copying human written code and all human code has bugs". This is embarrassing that people think this is how it works.
