Strawman. We are not arguing over whether she has an IQ over 110 or whatever, we are arguing over she has the very high intelligence necessary to be a reasonable pick for SCOTUS. Obviously most blacks cannot get a SCOTUS clerkship, but getting a SCOTUS clerkship while black is nowhere near as hard as getting one while non-black.
As has been pointed out elsewhere ITT, AA means that accomplishments such as being a SCOTUS clerk do not prove high IQ the way they would for somewhere without black/Hispanic privilege. Sotomayor is dumb as shit and managed to become not merely a SCOTUS clerk, but a fucking SCOTUS justice. Are you bluesmoke or something? Go back to reddit |

I litigate cases. I try cases. I interact with judges all the time. I've been in front of 100+ judges. The idea that Judge Jackson's LSAT score matters at this point in her career is ABSOLUTE nonsense. You know what else I don't care about? Where she went to law school or her first job after graduating.
What matters to me:
Does she display a strong grasp of the law? And does she apply the law, rather than rule based on her own personal views.
Is she truly fair and impartial?
Does she treat EVERY SINGLE litigant who appears in front of her with the EXACT SAME level of respect? That mean she treats a factory worker making $12 an hour and trying to represent himself with the SAME LEVEL of respect as she treats Apple, Google, celebrities, big time politicians.
Does she apply rules and procedures consistently?
Does she act like she's a supreme being--- or, does she conduct herself with grace and humility?
Is she open-minded and willing to listen to new or different arguments and perspectives?
Does she hire outstanding law clerks?
Does she want to do the work of a federal judge (now possible Supreme Court Justice), or, does she just want the title and the prestige---- but regards doing the actual had work as an inconvenience?
Is she willing to rule on hard issues?
Can she build consensus with other judges?
I could keep going. I could list 50+ different factors and considerations. You know what would never show up on that list? Her LSAT score.
