Date: February 6th, 2026 2:25 PM Author: Startled Brilliant Corner Pisswyrm SoCal. It's everywhere, whether Silver Lake or upmarket LA suburbs, or Manhattan or DC or Boston or Chicago or anywhere work takes me. Even abroad, in London and Munich. Spotted it in Grindelwald, Switzerland last summer.
People are conformists. Even I'm a conformist to my particular clique of anonymous corporate execs flitting from airports to downtown office hqs to UMC suburbs. But in my world I'm allowed a little more freedom than some of those cliques who really demand wholly and total conformity and a post-hipster coffeeshop barista is one of them. You're not getting the job unless you have a quota of the right kinds of tattoos and piercings and you must have certain haircuts.
What especially fascinates me is that some women clearly are attracted to this clique. And that is what I don't fully understand. |
