You are an idiot if you think nobody listened to that song for enjoyment.

That's part of why it was so successful. It was a killshot to Drake, but it was also a good fucking song.

"Wop wop wop wop wop, Dot fuck 'em up!"

Agreed, which makes it even more devastating. It's an excellent song on its own merits, which guarantees heavy play, and every time it's played, Drake gets called a pedophile

The other diss track is better and the 21 Savage song he guests on that started the whole thing was better than any of the Kendrick diss tracks. Ironically Pushups was the best song in the entire battle by far. It was annoying to me that they were shitting out these songs responding to each other in a matter of hours that were obviously not their best work and morons on the internet were freaking out because it was generating clicks on social media. It was a shitty moment for hip hop overall, but it did have the unintentional positive effect of orienting things away from all the dogshit mumble rap that has been dominant for the last couple years.

Funny that none of you guys are on Chappell Roan. I know she’s very Kamala coded at this point, but for people in their 20s she was the breakout star of the summer. Kendrick won primarily with dorky tweens and younger teens who know his music because of Fortnight and NBA2K.
