Date: December 11th, 2025 12:52 PM Author: cot on gin i read the description and it sounded like they were rehashing tom clancy division a decade later except in UE5. what's the draw? why play battlefield and not e.g. insurgency or cs2 or tarkov a dozen of the other mid-tier studio offerings that do the same thing but better? maybe i'm washed out on fps but i didn't see a single real "hook" in that to make it worth the install space. iw/treyarch/bfs-ea haven't added anything innovative to their games in years; i think even warzone was just first person PUBG and they basically sold it as that |

Date: December 11th, 2025 1:08 PM Author: cot on gin i don't really like any of those battle royale games and don't see the draw the maps are always too big, it ends up promoting pretty boring play, day-z broke the ground on this imo. the paradigm of finding gear for 10 minutes only to get 1hk sniped by some guy with five pixels exposed from a bush 200 yds away there was a f2p one called "frontier" or something, now defunct, but it had smaller maps and halo style ttk/movement and that was a bit of an improvement. but generally these things have made the genre more stagnant |

Gradually it filled with tryhards and minmaxing no lifes and literal cheaters who made it impossible to win if you're just a 9-5 dad playing a couple games per week.
