edit: ok i totally agree that doing all sorts of lawless stuff ALSO shifted the overton window, but i don't think that ultimately does anything good for the country - bad precedent. but now i think we agree on the technical point - agree with your second bit, that history will judge the rulebreaker by ultimate results (and that history is written by the victors). we'll see what unfolds... |

im not defending trump specifically. but these change agents are always imperfect. that's what i mean about a sledgehammer. when big changes happen the transition is messy. from ceasar to robespierre to lincoln. when changed happen it's messy. the reluctance to endure that cost is a good thing because we dont want to make big changes willy-nilly.
