In other words, look at Job: Satan destroys Job's life, but at the behest of God. A Demiurge or Satan is either subordinate to the highest power (and therefore the highest power is responsible for Satan/the Demiurge's actions), or God is not omnipotent and you're at a kind of Zoroastrian dualism (which doesn't make sense either, because a God outside of space and time would be infinite, and therefore not separated into two entities).
So if God is responsible for Satan's actions, then God is responsible for children - who don't have the free will to choose - suffering. What kind of God could this possibly be? If it's part of a "greater plan," what kind of "greater plan" would justify this level of suffering? |
