I blame game gear for destroying it, the market could only support one or the other. it's a shame because game gear was just gameboy with color and didn't have the cool sprite scaling capabilities of the lynx.

They for some bizarre reason made it huge (it could have been much smaller) and it chewed through batteries which was a huge issue back then when you still used AA batteries. The Gameboy won the generation despite being less advanced pretty much on battery life.

Also, it had No Games.
