The Eddy Van Halen/GnR legacy of the late 80s were too formulaic and technical, and it obviously counts greatly that Nirvana put out one single and video and wiped that shit right off the radio and MTV. Billy Corgan could've never done anything remotely like this because he's too much of a nancy boy studio junkie.
