We're so used to things being that way in America we sort of take it for granted, but things aren't even remotely like that in Germany. This street blocking thing isn't a normal part of life in Germany. |

I will say this, you are absolutely right in the sense that the vast majority of people buy into the main narrative. This can be for good or for ill, depending. The mainstream media there has One Opinion on everything and nobody bothers to challenge it, and everyone who disagrees is labeled fringe. But most people are completely fine with the main narrative. They don't butt heads like we do.
I do think the divisiveness is tearing our culture apart but at the same time I'm glad that we have people who stand up for fringe issues and dig in and occasionally win. I think our culture of constant debate is superior even if sometimes I wish we could all get along and be more harmonious. I think it's better in the end than the German way of not questioning anything ever.
The part I disagree with you about is I do think there are way too many looney tunes climate activists over there. |
