"Foid" was a comment on the inscrutability of the female gender from the median male perspective and an acknowledgement of some of the alienness of our times. I've never actually seen it used as an insult. It's affectionate, playful, "women are from venus, men are from a variety of other places" type stuff
"Moid" is almost always used with intent to draw blood, usually by RFH types and as I've seen it is mainly a derogatory diminutive
The US is heading to the brink as far as gender relations goes imo
