Me and my core friends (jock/skater clique guys) all bought GBA SP systems and Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire in 2003 and we'd play them at parties in front of hot girls and it wasn't gay or losery

An absolute masterpiece in so many ways. What they achieved with such limited technological capability is on the level of Bach or Mozart

Yep facts, I remember I thought the games looked super gay and losery, this chad older kid in my class who was dating the hottest Swedish exhcnage student in the world brought a game boy pocket to class in his cargo short pocket and let me play pokemon on it and I thought it was amazing. An entire world on that little battery powered device with the cpu of a graphing calculator in it. I was able to accept that I could be a gamer and a jock, and put my hatred and biases aside and thats why I have a Hmomg wife now

I lost my virginity when I was at my friend's house (Asian) playing Pokemon together and had sex with his older sister when he had to leave to go do something

Red/Blue started development in like 1990. Huge amount of TLC went into these for a 90s game boy game. Imo the later games are all gay as hell and low-effort bc they churned them out so quickly. No one can even name Pokemon after 151 unless they’re legendary af or in smash bros

On Reddit they call you a “genwunner” for saying that and devise weird strawmen and are like “do you even know how many glitches those games have? 😏” as if you’re making a statement based on nuts and bolts gameplay. like wtf they really think highly of the slight incremental improvements made on a game boy game while defending the horrible designs that came after. No concept of the idea of something being very clearly for kids , even for a video game. No concept of the idea that you can be tapped the fuck out of having any interest in more of the same after catching them all which takes forever btw.
