Ya the short version is I saw the SWEDISH PHENOMS Icona Pop at a festival and they were both singing way out of tune. I started mouthing off to the people in my area about it and some frat bro type of guy absolutely blew a gasket. He got in my face and went full steel man defense of out of tune Icona Pop. It was like two Swedish chicks singing at the same time over a drum loop. It was worse than a caterwaul. I remember this bro was so offended at my snide remarks. He said something like "Well what would you do if she was your sister? Wouldn't you support her?!" Idr but I think in the entire world history of humanity this was the most contentious discussion of Icona Pop between two jacked bros on a hot day in Grant Park. Oomox can confirm from the clip that the singing was atrocious. |

Date: May 26th, 2026 7:27 AM Author: teh motherfucking pockle rick ((zurich is stained)) probably nothing. actually, i'd smoked weed before one of the flaming lips shows (i saw them at 930 and at recher theatre in baltimore -i got stoned before the latter show). that was wild bc this was when they had like 15 people in animal costumes dancing onstage and threw giant beach balls out into the crowd.
actually, before that show, i was at my friends' apartment and just before we left i was higher than shit and since i didn't smoke often, i got kind of self-conscious. i looked at myself in the mirror and thought wtf am i wearing. i had on dark brown dickies and a vintage polo shirt and was like "wtf am i wearing? i look like i'm wearing a costume." i stopped dressing like an "indie rock guy" after that night. |

the soft bulletin/yoshimi battles the pink robots era was 180 tho, glad i saw them a couple times then. |
