I became his everything and it just didn't work. It ended 2 months later but I realized from that relationship being the emotional crutch for someone doesn't make a relationship. I have a lot of really weirdly superficial friendships though; like, for example, I'm seeing a former co-worker for lunch tomorrow. we text a lot and hang out occasionally, but it's sort of an unspoken rule of our friendship that we only ever interact or even text during the weekdays, and that we generally talk about nothing personal. and it's all very weird, because he finds me immensely entertaining, and I like him for the most part, but I always feel like I'm just playing this funny/smart guy role for him, and for a lot of people, and that he's not too interested in me outside of this occasional source of entertainment. and I have no idea what would cause him or anyone else to care more.
