His whole business was building the fucking stores and leasing them back to kmart on thirty year leases. When they went bankrupt something like 90% of the leases got voided by the court. The problem was he had worked out some weird tax deal whereby he realized no income until the lease terminated and then he would recognize it all. So when this happened he is suddenly getting bills from the IRS saying he owed about 150 million dollars in taxes. Fun times. - facilities are shittier
- fewer bargain deals
- prices n general are a bit higher on basic shit like toothbrushes and shave gel
- layout is haphazard - big "back to school" section just randomly spawns in the center of the store, fucking toy section is ginormous.
- less stuff in general (i.e. no pharmacy, auto section only has only one brand of wiper blades)
- they have some gay ass rewards card that you have to sign up for if you want the best deals
- just felt dingy and old, though I spotted a few BBWs at the checkout line |
