Why do libs celebrate Ted Kennedy so much?

HuffPo writer:
We don't know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she'd have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don't know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.
Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn't automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted's death, and what she'd have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.
Who knows — maybe she'd feel it was worth it.

War on Women?
He killed one. Not figuratively or metaphorically, but truly killed her. And he frequented brothels. And he was a womanizer. It was on Good Friday that he went out chasing women with his nephew and he ended up accused of rape.
Feminists revere him. And that's before we get to Bill Clinton rubbing a cigar across an intern's labia in the White House and then lying under oath about it.

Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with immigration policy. Libs will fetishize anyone with "Kennedy" as their last name, even as they unironically condemn "failsons" who are not Kennedies. Just look at how much they try to forcememe the younger Kennedies, like the guy who constantly gets caught for DUIs.
Most libs don't even know the role Ted Kennedy played in US Immigration Law, that's a thing cons are obsessed with. They just know he's a Kennedy and they're supposed to romanticize Kennedies.
