it's a relatively easy language to learn. the grammar is pretty simple. and the vocab is pretty limited; there aren't 5 words for the same thing like in english, since it's a simple ancient language.
most new immigrants pick it up very quickly, between the free hebrew classes and the immersion. |

Date: January 3rd, 2013 3:12 AM Author: scarlet dilemma the vowels is only for biblical hebrew. it's simple. the characters are consonants and each vowel is a symbol placed below the consonant. it'd be like writing english words with consonants only and putting each consonant's vowel that follows below it.
modern hebrew doesn't use the vowels, which makes it harder to read because you can't really sound shit out. you have to recognize the word. it'd be like writing english without the vowels. native speakers would be able to understand an english sentence without the vowels, but some FOB would struggle. |
