No, not really. I love biglaw. I just run in-house flame on here and IRL to reduce the competition when it comes time to make partner!

No, I love tackling complex factual and legal questions for cases "in the headlines" and the camaderie among associates and parters.

I have for the lat six months, decided to give notice soon, life is too sacred to spend 70% of your waking hours doing something you absolutely hate.

I don't understand why people are so averse to leaving, big law is a dead end. Being a partner is even worse than being an associate. With the lack of boomers retiring you are going to have to leave anyway, might as well do so before you get pigeonholed as an attorney.

Also you are probably asking about why not in house. My sample could be small but the in house attorneys I know work longer hours than my firm. My firm has actually had quite a few people go in house only to return to biglaw.

I am at a botique firm which recruiters fondly refer to as a great "lifestyle" firm when recruiting from other big firms. I just had a 300 hour month and nobody has been less than 200 hours for as far as I can remember. Law firms do not turn down work, ever, period. A firm is only a "lifestyle" firm for so long as business keeps flowing at a slower rate than biglaw.

I saw that all-too-familiar "I'm so stressed thinking of killself" on a few of the associates' faces I met with at the lateral interview. Made me sad.
