it makes easy work of eating a lot of veggies. also, instead of ice cream, i throw in a few strawberries to make a nice sorbet. from that alone, it'll pay for itself in a year or two.
also, and i have this on good evidence, women hop into your bedroom if you tell them that you have a vitamix. |

Date: May 19th, 2017 10:43 PM Author: Violet Giraffe Fanboi they were the original PRESTIGIOUS blender. 5 years ago other than blendtec (which doesn't blend *quite* as well) they had basically no competition, and vitamix has been around a lot longer than that. it's exponentially better than your generic department store blender in terms of actually blending shit.
the last couple of years there have been a lot of powerful blenders come on market for a bit less (~200, you can commonly get vitamixes at $320, less for refurbished) but I'd still take vitamix over any of them based on their track record. They're absurdly reliable and the biggest problem I had with previous blenders (admittedly ttts) was that they just fucking broke all the time. |

I've also used it to make squash soup when I'm too lazy to use a pot after blending it (the blades spin fast enough to heat it up). TTT blenders will leave strands and shit, with vitamix it's smooth as silk
It's a pain in the ass to get out but can also be used to make almond butter etc. if you're cheap |
