but how would they know? most ppl who get fired in biglaw get at least 1 month of severance and time to be on the website. It is firm policy at most places not to disclose that you got fired. No future employer is going to contact your "current" employer |

Most big pros shops are outside DC around the PTO, but there are tons of 10-25 person IP firms around that country that do prosecution work and pay 100k plus. but ip lit is not as hot as it was in 2011-12. 3 years ago, he could get a callback interview at 1/2 of the V100 firms that have patent lit groups if he wanted to |
