I work inhouse. Amount of red tape is absurd. I hear it's somewhat better elsewhere, but that is the one thing I miss about a firm. Nice just cutting through all the bs.

Do they come to you with issues? Or do you reach out to them? Do they tend to CC you on lots of e-mail?

My basic questions, is how do you stay in the loop with that group without sitting in on all their meetings?

I am very satisfied with my life because I am an in-house counsel

I help corporate leaders confront legal risk with confidence

I volunteer my knowledge to strangers on the internet about being an in-house counsel and tell them about the e-mails and meetings so many meetings

WHOOSH

I make fun of anyone who is not excited about being on a large portion of the groups transaction based emails

I don't have to fix the paper jams as often because more people are in the office when I am

I cannot afford to purchase a house but the neighborhood is nice

I wish that I was as successful as the people in my neighborhood but it could be worse

I make a nice salary

I wish that being an in-house counsel didn't make strangers so jealous of me

I am very satisfied with my life
