I don't think there is one w/r/t Israel. I am sympathetic to the argument that we basically fund Israel for humanitarian reasons to stop it being wiped off that map, but I find all the talk of the importance of Israel as an ally -- which you hear from US politicians all the time -- extremely disingenuous. Israel has zero value as an ally.
I guess politicians may need to make the case that Israel is an "ally" to garner support for spending on Israel, and that's fine, but we're all adults ITT so let's call a spade a spade: Israel is a worthless drain for us that we support because of Jewish interests (again, no anti-Semite, I'd probably do the same if I was Jewish) and because we feel sorry for them. |

Israel would never partner in any significant exercise with the US other than to defend itself because the US would never want Israel's help in any middle east fight (e.g. Iraq) because obviously given the anti-Semitism that would always only make things worse. Your post is just a bunch of conclusory statements.
Finally, in view of the fact that much of Israel's military R&D money comes from the U.S. and their talent would otherwise just move here if we didn't support them, it's a bit much to say we're getting tons of military tech from them. We give them far more than they give us.
Again, I'm not a military expert of the region and I'm open to being convinced but it's going to take more than you just saying so.
Also, let's please not get bogged down in nonsense where you get obsessed with the word "zero." I'm talking about de minimis value in light of all the pain in the ass it causes rather than literally zero. Obviously. |
