About My Beliefs

While this blog is welcome to everyone under the LGBT+ umbrella (as well as to any straight or cis allies interested in learning more), I would like to address some rather unpopular beliefs that I hold, which may be the deciding factor on whether or not you choose to follow this blog.

Looking through my blog, you may notice that I share a lot of beliefs with the transmedicalist or truscum communities when it comes to gender identity. In other words, I personally believe you need dysphoria - either physical or social - to ID as transgender. This is an opinion that informs which gender identities I choose to draw dinosaurs for, and which I refuse to draw on grounds of violating this belief.

Obviously this is an opinion of much debate on Tumblr, and has come up fairly recently (and heatedly) on this blog. As this is a positivity blog, I would rather not reengage in such a divisive and potentially hostile debate. If you would like to read more on my reasoning behind my beliefs (and why I still have a right to express them despite being cis) I invite you to check out this post as well as this post.

However, if you are a non-dysphoric trans person, or simply someone who agrees with tucute ideology, you are still welcome on this blog! Despite my personal beliefs, I will not question or police anyone’s choice of label for themself.

My dinosaurs exist to represent you, andyour own interpretation of the gender identity or sexual/romantic orientation that they symbolize. They do not exist to represent my own opinions on gender, or my opinions on any of the identities presented on this blog.

In other words, if you are non-dysphoric and want to interpret any of my transgender/non-binary Pride Dinosaurs as non-dysphoric as well, then go for it!

On the other hand, if you are non-dysphoric and feel unwelcome, hurt or uncomfortable on this blog due to these opinions, please do not hesitate to block me! I often tag my work with common tags seen in the LGBT+ side of Tumblr, and if my beliefs offend you, I would rather not cause you any more unnecessary discomfort.

Please remember that there are many other excellent LGBT+, transgender and/or non-binary positivity blogs that you can follow that do not subscribe to such (relatively) controversial beliefs as mine does. If my beliefs upset you or make you angry, I would implore you to seek out and follow such blogs, rather than expending the energy to send me any negativity or accusations of cissexism, transphobia, etc.

Pride Dinosaurs is an art project that’s all about positivity, awareness…and dinosaurs! Every month or so*, I will post a different rare, unusual or simply unheard-of dinosaur representing a different marginalized GSRM (Gender, sexual or romantic minority) identity. My goal is to draw a dinosaur for each identity with an established pride flag, so stay tuned! There’s going to be a lot of dinosaurs!

*I’m currently busy with other art projects right now, so I can’t guarantee when new dinosaurs will be posted. That being said, I still plan on finishing my identity schedule no matter how long it takes!

I try to insure that this blog is a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQIA+ and GSRM individuals. However, I am open to sharing any opinions you may have about our rights, community, activism, or any other issues you may want to discuss. Discussion is always welcome, and I will publish any messages as long as they are tactful, polite and hate-free. Please remember that this is a positivity blog, not a debate blog or a social justice blog.

Evolution obviously exists in many forms, and perhaps humans evolved in just the way we are speculating, but that nice neat little flow chart of different human species they show you is based on like six bones.

They find a slightly smaller jaw bone and declare that rather than a smaller x or a younger y, it's an entirely new species - because you get funding and glory for that where no one gives a shit if you say you found a tibia bone from a short dude.
