I can't wait to get home from work so I can escape to Finland, trade the meat from the forest reindeer I tracked and chased to exhaustion and bashed to death with the blunt side of my axe, acquire a fine ass carving axe to craft shit for trade, and check on my fishing nets, hopefully cop some fresh ass trout.

Then I'll chill out, turn the sick mountaintop cave I found into a tight cave palace, install a smoke room to preserve my foodstuffs for winter and added trading value. Probably craft some shit to cop that sweet quality battle axe and some more fishing nets. Set up a bear trap or two to keep sovereign over the cave--without a secure border, it ain't even mine.

Probably dig some traps for thirsty stags, make myself some javelins, do some hunting.

Then I'll be buying some dog bros to go and genocide the hostile tribes with, loot their faggot corpses, and eventually go all action hero clearing the land of criminal robbers.

After that I suppose all that is left is to slaughter the local walled village wholesale and declare myself king of my own little slice of heaven, and gather some women to cook me nourishing treats.

Then I will leave it all behind and go after the bear that killed my father, leaving me to fend for myself with nothing but the gear on his back and the meats in his pouch.

Anyway, back to spreadsheets.

Unreal World. It's from like 1992 but still has frequent updates.

Last night I was killed after trying to save my dog Rick from the skillful warrior I sicced him on. I definitely shouldn't have rushed into his forest enclave, blocking my other dog Peter from attacking him. Should have let Pete chomp on him and blasted him with some broadhead arrows. Dude was smart though; managed to corner himself to take out Rick solo before I could run around to get a clear shot.

As I died, on top of Rick's grisly corpse, Pete was still safe. I hope he lived a good life.

Welp, I was killed again. I got greedy and tried to attack another hostile raider with a new dog (Donald Junior) and while I succeeded in killing him, I was unprepared to deal with my bleeding arrow wound until it was too late.

I bled out while trying to apply a bandage and some herbs. Next time I will do that immediately instead of trying to walk to a sage for help.

My new wildernessmo is doing well though. I've figured out how to consistently track animals until they're too tired to run and have traded a bunch of cooked meat (which would spoil faster than I could eat it) for sweet tools and preserved meats. I'll definitely make some leather armor before I start trying to kill more humans.

I quit fishing because hunting and trading are simply more efficient and dealing with a bunch of fishing nets is boring, and they die if you don't check the nets daily. If I have downtime while building a cottage or preserving meats and tanning hides I'm just going to dig trap pits for big game with my fine metal shovel.

I might just hire a dude to build the cottage while I hunt game. Fuck menial labor.

Medium term goal is to get as many dog bros as I can and start taking out whole bands of robbers with my canine family. Everyone is afraid of a man with a pack of loyal dawgs. Maybe I'll slaughter a few so I can dress head to toe in dog leather so everyone knows just who they're dealing with.

It's free on the game website. It's like twelve bucks on steam which is basically a donation.

Most people would probably find it boring, but I like it the way I like civilization. Just lots of decision making, trying to make optimal moves. The combat is actually pretty deep, and you'll get destroyed by humans until you learn to play it extremely safe. You can't really get overpowered, except with a horde of doggs.

I have stayed alive since my last poast. I damn near got killed pretty early taking down a pair of robbers. I believe I had two dogs, one was killed in action, and after killing one robber the second hit me hard in both legs with arrows, sending me to the ground unable to walk.

Fortunately I was able to crawl and dodge his attacks and my dog bro (Luis) killed him, saving my ass from certain death.

Luis and I chilled out for a week or so until I could walk again and I bought up three more dogs. I hired three strapping bros to chop a shitload of trees and built a cabin, started smoking some meat in it from some deer I'd left alive in my traps til the smoke house was ready.

Me and the dogs whipped all sorts of ass until I got ballsy and decided to take on four robbers at once with just me and three doggs (Luis was healing up and watching my new sheep, lil Bea, protecting her from hawks.)

Three robbers died, and two dogs. Me and the last dog were going at their last man when he pegged me next to the fucking eye with an arrow, rendering me unconscious and bleeding. I awoke in unfamiliar surroundings. Big Donald Jr. was gone, hopefully living free. Since I'd been moved while unconscious, I was unable to butcher my dogs Vardaman and Vinny for their meat and skins. Oh well. RIP.

Since I had a bunch of meat smoking and nothing much to do, Luis and I went on a trip to far away lands to search for replacement dogs. We picked up three more: otter unit, the Alamo, and Vic Jr.

Snow is now falling in Finland. We have plenty of meat for winter, and have been ridding the forest of robbers and warriors, looting their corpses. I'm about to make some skis and get a Northern Spear that doubles as a ski stick so I can continue adventure-killing all winter long in style. All my doggs are already veteran killers, loyal as fuck and happy as clams with each elk cut I toss.

Feels good man.

This guy died. I tried something that was supposed to be the safer way to hunt men. It is NOT the safer way to hunt men, as it turns out.

But it was a lesson learned, and I can get back to where I was a lot quicker next time.

Hopefully the vagabond adventurer I hired to adventure with me takes over my life. He deserves it, taking arrows to the legs and getting a disastrous injury in battle at my side. Before I left on my fatal trip, I told him to stay in my cabin and rest. Hopefully he does, and realizes I ain't coming back. I'd hate for him to crawl his ass home. I left him a good dozen dogs, a sheep, a domesticated reindeer, a small cabin, and enough meat to last a year and enough weapons and skins for him to retire from his adventuring life.

Last I saw him, he was laid up in my fireplace for some reason. There was meat smoking right next to him which should be ready to eat well before the food he was carrying runs out.

New character is doing great already. I'm making him an expert bowman and already wrecking shit. Managed to secure a rare helmet, the only one in the game that protects the face from deadly critical hits. I'm very lucky to have it this early as its the only one I've seen after 20+ hours in the game, and removes a lot of the fear of death by a single fortuitous arrow.

Already got a chill dog bro and am well on my way to building an army of dog doods. Once I have enough I'm going to hire some adventure bros and will attempt to entirely genocide the hostile Njerpezit culture and claim it as my own sovereign territory.

It will be bloody as hell and many good men will likely die, but somebody's got to do it.

This dude still hasn't died. I have more than enough preserved meat to last the winter, copped the best weapons I want, have a shitload of fine furs to trade for whatever I want, and picked up a couple domesticated reindeer for kicks.

Once I got a bunch of dogs I just went all ghengis khan on some nearby villages, though really I only wanted the walled village and the other two were sadistic and unnecessary in retrospect. Still, good practice for big battles.

So now in addition to the cabin I build up by the lake (and the big trap fences there that keep capturing elks and deer every few days) I have my own fortress. The sheep kept in the fortress seem to like their new owner. The best part is that the very dogs that helped me slaughter the town were those I purchased from the town. Sad!

Now I'll pretty much just fuck around until winter so I can ski across the country and rain pain on the hostile tribe. I'll probably try to see how many dog bros I can acquire before then so they can guard my sheep fortress.

You're welcome. I'm here to offer PRO TIPS.

I suggest starting in the Lonely Settler scenario once you've done the early game stuff. It sets you up with unfinished cabins and a bunch of different axes so you can skip the early grind.

The red guys on the main map are Njerpezit. They're always hostile, and only ever roll solo. They're not too tough to take out, but can definitely kill you even if you're careful. But killing even one or two can get you enough to trade for a bunch of stuff. Keep a dog bro or two with you and they're easy. Try not to shoot your dogs with arrows, and you will if they're between you and your target.

The blue guys are fur traders. They carry the best stuff for trade and aren't hostile unless you fuck with them.

The other guys are either chill adventurers, who you can hire (and pretty damn cheap too,) but might be robbers. They roll 2-4 deep. Not as tough as Njerps but harder since there's more of them. If you're going to get your ass kicked, just give them what they want up front. If you're going to fight them, kill a bowman first if they have one, and do it before they start talking to you (probably need to shoot them, they'll talk to you before you can walk up to them I think.)

just scraping by right now. Luckily I caught a ton of fish and have had them smoking for a while. Hoping I can trade them for an axe

I told you, man. Don't fuck with potential robbers until you get some dogs or a fellow adventurer.

I suggest you just make a club and go hunting. Keep running after the animal (but walk once your fatigue gets to like 20% for a bit) and eventually it gets fatigued, then breathless. Then you can just walk up and bash it to death.

Trade meat for an axe (hand axe is good enough for most tasks but not the best for most).

You can also make a stone knife and axe somehow iirc.

ty. I ended up trading some fur shoes for a decent axe and got back on my feet. Built a house, now I'm building a fence.

Been trying to nail an elk that wanders around my homestead, got him once. The animals tend to disappear while I chase them before I can catch up--maybe because the area I live in is open heathland?

You can see the animals tracks. You have to be standing very close to the tracks though, so keep an eye for where they are when they leave your view and beeline for there. And only run til about 20-25% fatigue, then walk til it's low. Then follow along tracks til you see them again.

It usually takes catching up with them 3-4 times to get them fatigued, and more if you keep losing the trail.

Still kicking with Harold. Went to the East to kill a village full of slavers and now just have to wait til the season changes before I finished all the adventures.

Then I'll probably just go on an all out rampage and see if I can't kill all of the slaving Njerpezit bastards.

I'm basically set for life, have like 1000 cuts of smoked meat and tons of valuable weapons and furs.

Right now I'm just chilling in the Njerpezit village I slaughtered. I'll wait and try to help out some adventurer I hired to come with me. His legs were broken in the battle. Two other good men were lost, as well as one dog. To be fair, I was trying to scope things out and when we were spotted one of my bros decided to Leeroy Jenkins the village and nearly got us all killed. Luckily I'm a bad ass, so we made it.

Fired this up recently, got myself a sick run going.

I made a few small settlements before finally settling by some rapids (don't freeze in winter, best for easy access to water for drinking, fishing, hide working, but also prevents any enemies from accessing when rivers freeze.)

I hired a woodsman for protection and to help cut down some trees, but this fucker just kept going HAM chopping down thicc trunks even after our arrangement was over. There were logs al over the area by the time he wandered off.

This saved an enormous amount of labor, allowing me to build a SICK walled area up against the rapids where me and my dogs and livestock can chill and work in peace and safety.

I even managed to summon the spirit of the forest. My character (Lou) feels comfortable.
