The valves were fucked
This is on a 2012 with the pentastar. Almost out of warranty. They were *very* lucky it was still covered

It is fine, but not impressive. If you're ok with "fine" then get a 4Runner.

If you think like that then don't get a Jeep. Some of their stuff is more reliable than others. That's just life. Go to any Jeep board and you'll notice that the V6s have like 95% of the engine/drivetrain problems. Plus, the V8 is faster. Just how it works.
