Then went online to see what everyone was saying, and apparently Meltzer, who has seen and rated almost every match in existence, gave his first six star rating.
The last third of the match got so intense that I was borderline in tears trying to will Kenny to win. People in the crowd were crying. And I'm not even that familiar with the guy, this being only the second match of his I've ever watched (with the first being his G1 win a few minutes before I watched WK11). |

This was the first NJPW event I've watched and I feel like all other wrestling is ruined. I've been enjoying Goldberg, Braun Strowman, and AJ Styles, but that match felt so much more important that everything in WWE is now trivial.
Kenny cemented himself as the best wrestler alive today as I don't think styles could have delivered that bigly. I'm rooting for these NJPW guys now. Not sure how to buy the product though. It seems like the signup site is all japanese? I torrented WK but I'd rather throw some cash their way if it's not going to be a hassle. |

WWF wants to sign Kenny Omega away from New Japan Pro Wrestling for that exact reason. Omega basically tells them to fuck off with their money and says he wants to help grow NJPW to fight the monopoly. Then at NJPWs biggest event of the year, he goes on to wrestle the greatest match of all time, cementing himself as the best wrestler in the world today, and starts making vocal claims that the WWF title has no prestige or value. |

okada/omega was great...but not even the best match at westlekingdom...it was shibata/goto.
furthermore, the best pro wrestling show on american tv right now FAR AND AWAY is AXS TV's New Japan Pro Wrestling with Josh Barnett and Jim Ross doing the announcing.
finally, I'm all about Naito right now. somehow, his IWGP run wasn't great, but his IC run is ON FIRE. |
